3. Designing Simple Website Using KompoZer

Ø Website development important points: purpose, audience, content and medium.

Ø Content : general- give overview of the site,  detailed- brief descriptive information

Ø Create table in kompozer: insert and table menu or Table button on composition toolbar

Ø Insert Table dialog box has three tabs. 1. Quickly 2. Precisely 3.Cells

Ø If you want to open the table properties: double click on table and right click Table cell properties.

Ø Table properties has two tabs: 1. Table and 2. Cells

Ø Five table properties display in  table tab: 1.size  2.borders and spacing

3.table alignment  4.caption  5.background color

Ø In Borders and Spacing option:  1.border- size of borders

2. Spacing- spacing between cells 3.padding- spacing between cell and text

Ø Caption: This option is used for set the table caption (title).

Ø Insert image in webpage: insert ® image and on composition toolbar image button.

Ø Image properties dialog box- if you don’t want to give alternate text then use “don’t use alternate text” option.

Ø Image properties dimensions option used for specifies height and width of image.

Ø Use this menu to Change the text color in the KompoZer : Format® Text color

Ø Use this menu to Change the Page title in the KompoZer: Format® page title and properties

Ø Use this menu to Change the Page color in the KompoZer: Format® page colors and background

Ø Available options in the insert menu of KompoZer: image, table, horizontal line, link

Ø Cookie is a variable that store on user’s computer.

Ø Cookie can be  read, create, modify  and delete.

Ø In Java script to convert data into number using parseFloat( ) function.

Ø Website publishing option is available in file menu.file ®Publish

Ø Page public dialog box has two tabs namely publish and setting.

Ø In Setting tab available options is: site name, website information, publishing server

Ø In Publish tab available options is: site name, page title, file name, site subdirectory for this page

Ø Other web development tools: Aptana Studio, Bluegriffon,Amaya

Ø Aptana  2.0.5 (aptana 2) : Its a powerful open source IDE software.

·        It is complete web development environment which provides language support for html, CSS, Java script, ruby, rails, php, python many others.

·        Its also comes with large numbers of plugins.

Ø Bluegriffon is free open source WYSIWYG  HTML editor.

·        Its supports languages like english, dutch, german and  Chinese

·        It can be easily downloaded from its website www.bluegriffon.org

Ø Amaya is free open source WYSIWYG editor developed by World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

·        It is initially started as HTML/CSS editor and has now grown into an editor for many XML-based system.
